Last updated: August 7, 2026
Hello Health handles personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Alberta health information requirements for virtual family medicine services.
Accountability
The clinic is responsible for personal information under our control. Clinical and portal systems are operated with healthcare-appropriate safeguards through our secure clinical platform.
Purpose and consent
We collect personal information for identified purposes: booking, delivering care, billing eligible provincial services, portal access, and legal compliance. Consent is obtained through booking flows, visit consent, and portal terms as applicable.
Limiting collection and use
We collect only information reasonably required to provide care and operate the clinic. We do not use health information for unrelated marketing without consent.
Safeguards
Access controls, encryption in transit, and healthcare-grade hosting practices apply to booking and clinical systems. Staff and clinicians access information on a need-to-know basis.
Openness and access
Our Privacy Policy describes what we collect and why. Patients may request access to or correction of personal information subject to clinical and legal record rules.
Health information in Alberta
Health information may also be subject to Alberta health information law and professional obligations for physicians. When provincial rules impose stricter requirements, we follow the higher standard.
